Ethan Crandall

Ethan Crandall is a junior undergraduate student studying Global Studies and Spanish at Washington University in St. Louis. His research work, done through the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Research Fellowship (MMUF) focuses on comparative histories of Hip-Hop in the Western Hemisphere, with particular emphasis on the United States and Chile, as well as Hip Hop consciousness and its relationship to civil society. Well-versed and fluent in Spanish, Ethan has spent considerable time in Latin America and Spain, exploring the ways Hip-Hop has taken root in Spanish speaking countries.
