Jacopo Ferri a.k.a DeadPoet

Jacopo Ferri, aka DeadPoet, teaches "Hip Hop: Roots and Culture" at Skillz Academy in Rome and has been an active B-boy since 2008, member of the Rome-based crew Raw Muzzlez. His work explores the relationship between body, culture, and society through hip-hop practices.He is the author of The Intelligent Movement: Corpo, Individuo e Collettività nella Cultura Hip Hop (2024), a book that investigates how movement within hip-hop becomes a form of expression, identity, and collective awareness. Combining academic research with first-hand experience in the scene, Ferri highlights how the hip-hop body can reclaim space, create meaning, and build community.
