Benedict Weskott

Benedict Weskott, M.A., is a social scientist doing their doctorate on queer rappers at the chair of Social Theory at the faculty of Social Sciences of Ruhr-Universität Bochum. As a journalist for German public-service broadcasters Deutschlandfunk and Deutschlandfunk Kultur, they also write and speak about music, pop culture and sociopolitical issues, deconstructing common narratives and highlighting underrepresented voices. In their work as a facilitator of anti-discrimination workshops, they are educating on sexual and gender diversity as well as modes of marginalisation and group dynamics.
