Dima Alkhateeb

Dima Alkhateeb is a PhD student at the University of Groningen. Her research bridges multimodal analysis and cultural studies, focusing on the linguistic, gestural, and performative dimensions of global rap battles. She holds a Master’s degree in English Linguistics from Université Paris Cité, where she investigated multimodal markers of irony and sarcasm in American political discourse, as well as gestural correlates to questions in TED Talks. Her previous work also explored humor and the dynamics of cringe on screen.
