Deejay Irie was born in São Paulo (Brazil) and currently lives in Groningen. He is one of the most renowned turntablists in the Netherlands and is known worldwide for his skills. In 2002, he won the Dutch DMC Championship (a title he successfully defended for five consecutive years), became the runner-up at the 2005 DMC World Championships, and in 2015 he was crowned the world’s first-ever Visual DJ World Champion. Irie has toured around the globe and performed with major names such as Gaslamp Killer, KRS One, and Q-Bert
