Julian Owusu

Julian Owusu is an Oulu-based multidisciplinary dance artist, whose artistic core lies in community-building practices, pedagogy, Hip Hop, dance, spoken word poetry, facilitation, decolonial practices and reimagining. Julian’s working roles include dancer, choreographer, actor, writer, teacher and facilitator. He has taught at the Theatre Academy of the Helsinki University of Arts, the Oulu University of Applied science. Julian has published texts on the pedagogics of Hip Hop and is part of the leader group of the Hip Hop in Finland research network. He currently works as artistic director for the project Xulu202x which is part of the Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture project.
