Soheyb Kehal (aka Monst-R) is an Algerian rapper, writer, filmmaker, events organizer, and Hip Hop activist. He directs documentaries, hosts interviews, and produces podcasts, while performing across Africa and developing international collaborations. As a writer, he has published articles on Hip Hop in Africa with outlets such as Genius Rap, Ma3azef, HHSF, and Hip Hop Africa. His documentary The Eternal Spirit of Hip Hop in Algeria explored the cultural roots and resistance spirit of Hip Hop in North Africa. Through SideHustleProduction, his studio, he supports artists and projects that amplify Hip Hop’s voice as a global culture of resistance.
